Origin & Lineage
Geographic Origin: The historical roots of this magnificent pepper trace back directly to the fertile valleys of Wales, United Kingdom. It was officially isolated and stabilized inside a highly controlled greenhouse environment by a master gardener who is profoundly respected within the global pepper community.

Cultural Significance: Although the pepper does not possess ancient mythological origins or deep centuries-old folklore, a dedicated subculture of international seed savers has quickly embraced it. Traditional culinary use dictates that it functions as a gourmet alternative to standard sweet peppers. The pepper has also achieved considerable modern prestige among artisanal sauce makers who compete in international fiery food festivals. It is viewed as an ornamental masterpiece that bridges the gap between casual backyard gardening and elite botanical curation.

Lineage / Hybridizer History: The Peppapeach was originally discovered and developed in 2014 by the legendary amateur pepper enthusiast and master breeder Chris Fowler. During his ongoing work with the highly acclaimed Sugar Rush Peach variety, this specific round pheno was meticulously isolated due to its uniform shape and remarkable growth traits. Initially, the developer used the name Pichadoo for the selection, but the community has now firmly settled on the name Peppapeach or Peachadew. It is widely acknowledged that this variety contains pure Sugar Rush Peach genes, though it remains debated whether the round shape emerged as a completely natural mutation or via a clandestine, accidental cross-pollination event with a nearby South African Peppadew (Malawi Piquante) plant. Over multiple generations, the strain was carefully stabilized until the thick-walled, golf-ball-sized peach pods consistently grew true to form.
